'Regent' is a compact shrub that usually gets about 6 feet high with good foliage and sweet fruit. I planted two in a narrow strip about 3 feet wide along a brick wall at my workplace about 1995 and when I happily found them still there in 2021, I was disappointed that they were pruned so far up that they were leggy. This cultivar of Serviceberry makes a handsome plant with good green foliage, good fall color, neat habit, pretty smooth gray bark, handsome buds, and nice edible fruit for mankind or wildlife. It is offered by some larger conventional nurseries in the upper Midwest US. It is more likely to be used by landscape architects and designers than the general public for being an ornamental plant, but some people will buy it for its fruit. I don't think it does as well in the warmer zones of 6 & 7 as farther north, and I have never seen it in the Philadelphia, PA region.

I was fortunate to find small potted shrubs of Regent Serviceberries in a local nursery. Regent has really nice large berries and it sets a lot of fruit. A lot of fruit! You can eat the berries fresh or make jam, but I just leave mine for the backyard birds to eat.
