This is one of my favorite later-blooming azaleas. It's the main part of the bush bed. The first year I planted this it was trimmed back too far. The second year? Fixed. I'm not going to trim it until early fall or next year.
The leaves are quite circle shaped and are very compact. They are glossy and have little hairs on them.
The blooms range from hot pink to bright vivid red with age.
This blooms slightly later than the other azaleas. And, as a side note, the first year it did not bloom fully. Will be seeing if this is a pattern next year.
