I remember a few being sold at a nursery where I worked in southeast Pennsylvania. This cultivar of the Higan Cherry gets about 20 to 35 feet high with a rounded crown. This is not a weeping form; the weeping cultivar is Prunus subhirtella 'Pendula.' This Autumn or Winter Higan Cherry bears most of its semi-double, white to pale pink flowers in spring, but it usually bears some flowers in November-December. It also bears some pea-sized black cherries in fall. I don't think it actually is cold hardy to Zone 4, but only to Zone 5b; with sheltering in Zone 5a as possibly successful. I have not seen any ever being grown or planted back in my Chicago, IL, area that is Zone 5a.
