A new houseplant for me. I am growing a deep pink form and a yellow form. So far, they have been very slow to grow but also uncomplaining and non-fussy. I have high hopes for these plants one they mature and bloom!

South African bulb Container plant for me grown under bank of fluorescent lights that blooms in February/March. Planted initially in the fall, Top tip even w/ soil line in 6" pot.Water moderately until shoots appear (form rosette), then water freely. Flower stalk is interesting, oft spotted. Feed monthly while growing and blooming with a liquid fertilizer. Once leaves start to show yellowing, cease watering and store dry till following fall. Produces a 4 - 5" flowering scape with up to 60 small tubular flowers. Flower head's bloom lasts about a month. Minimum temp 45°. Only re-pot after several years as plant doesn't appreciate root disturbance (inhibits flowering). Clearly a ray of sunshine in the midst of winter.
