This plant is found in Texas and Northern Mexico. Cutting back every year helps to maintain its form.
It is said to be very effective in preventing termite and fungal damage in outdoor and marine uses. Combined with recycled plastics, it makes a rot-proof particle board. Guayule hybridizes with P. incanum, and has formed hybrid swarms throughout much of their range.
