Aah. A magnificent beast from my very favorite conspirator, Judy Davisson.

Blooms are registered at 9 inches, but I see them larger than that fairly often. Even in my zone 5a garden, the best scapes are often over 45 inches, and my bud counts are in the 20's for me. The scapes are tall, but stout. These are not scapes that will lean into the Sun. If the Sun wants a piece of these blooms, it knows where to find them.

Conspiracy Theory is a big, big plant. If you are thinking about moving a 40" dip and replacing it with this, it might not work. If you have 5 or 6 fans of this, you have a big clump that needs some space.

It's not impossible, I hear, but it's basically pod infertile for me. Pollen works great, though. I have a dozen or so Conspiracy Theory seedlings that should bloom for the first time this summer. I'll let you know how it goes in the July Seedlings thread.

I got a sf and planted it last year, I heard so many good things about this plant that I have another sf coming this week. Conspiracy theory will be one of the few of around 500 that I will have 2 clumps of when mature ( the other one is already at 2 fans Even after the brutal winter we had here in north central IL.

You can tell from my photos above how well it does for me. I love it and think it has the best plant habits you can find.

It takes constant dabbing but it will set pods. I think the earliest blooms are more likely to take, maybe that's because the weather is cooler. I'm not sure it's worth the effort as the pollen works on everything and seems to make stronger seedlings as a pollen parent. (That doesn't mean I will stop dabbing on it, but maybe just on the cooler days,)

Next year I should have LOTS of Conspiracy Theory offspring to show off. It was the most used pollen in the garden, I put it with everything.

Ordinarily I don't buy or recommend single fans, but with this one I would tell you to go for it if you can find one available.

I am and always will be a fan of big yellow blooms, but even friends who admit to being "yellow snobs" Love this one.

I don't have this daylily, but I'm marking this thread "watch". I don't want to miss seeing the seedlings. Hope you all post them here whenever they show up.

Big love here! One of my favorite plants.

I did set one pod two years ago, I think. I still try just to drive Davi a little crazy.....lol.

Will always have this daylily.
