Late-midseason here. Very reliable. Large blooms that are extremely colorful, with good substance. I'm sure this would have won major awards had Curt stayed in the award system. A friend in Alabama gushes over this one. Isn't it strange how many in the North are always enamored of southern-bred ones, while ignoring northern ones?

While the colors are vivid, I find that my camera (and many others) exaggerates a bit the brightness of the color distinction.

I have had this one for awhile now and it has been slow to get established, we are going.ro move it this summer and hopefully it perks up. The blooms are of a good.substance and color but not nearly enough of them for what I have seen in other pictures

A fabulous flower and plant, too. It has sturdy, well-branched scapes, healthy foliage, and a flower that is perfect in every way. Color is clean and bright with great substance. Recommended as one of Curt's best. Thankfully has come down in price in recent years and should be on everyone's "must have" list.

New in spring 2019, it bloomed really well, a good sturdy plant with beautiful blooms. It added another fan before a raccoon dug it all up and destroyed all but 1 fan. The biggest fan survived fortunately and looked good going into winter. The raccoon incident happened in early October, I just hope it settled in enough before winter.

I'm sorry to hear about your racoon incident Nancy. I'm sure I would have cried.

2023 update… Jellyroll Morton had a great season this summer, blooming from July 14- August 11, with at least 37 blooms counted. Pretty good for a new plant! By October, it had grown to 11 fans.
