I grew Applique for several years. It was very hardy and increased very well in my garden. Like a lot of daylilies, it didn't
rebloom here, but it did have an abundance of flowers. It was the first to bloom in my garden, and the first to stop, which
was it's undoing. While the rest of my garden was in full bloom, it was the only plant with no blooms. Mine may have
actually gotten a bit taller than 30 inches, and the flowers maybe slightly smaller than the registered 10 inches. While
being the first one to send up scapes, it was always an easy target for deer, but it was otherwise very reliable. Having
the applique really made it pop. The photos show red and also deeper purple, but mine was more of a lavender purple
without any trace of red at all. I seem to think that it did produce pods well too. While listed as an evergreen, the plant
was fully dormant here, and always dependable. I can also say that the flowers were never spotted, and they lasted through
most of the day. Spent blooms dried up quickly, but were slow to release, so it needed a little help to keep it looking nice.

So far this one is doing well in my 5b garden. I've only had it a couple years but last summer was much better. Beautiful blooms!

It grows like a weed here, and scapes are taller than 30 inches. They range from 34-36 inches in my garden. I do get rebloom most years. It is usually one of the first few daylilies to begin blooming each year. It does not set pods, but the pollen is potent.

Applique is very happy here. One of my earlier blooms, and has plenty of them. It has rebloomed a couple of times for me. Not fast to multiply but doing well. I have used it's pollen often. Never could set a pod on it though. 30 to 32 inches in height and the blooms are large.

Ina shared seeds from one of her crosses using Applique as the pollen parent.

A friend gave me Applique last year, look forward to seeing it thrive in my garden next Spring. From the descriptions above it sounds very stately and vigorous. An abundance of flowers like those in the pics here would be nice!

I purchased Applique from Lisa Klette (lilydaydreamer on here) in April 2016. I am not sure how many fans it has now. It has not multiplied super fast for me, but still at a good rate. Each bloom looks great and I love the height and I have not seen rust on this one. It's a keeper!

I actually have Applique too close to Back Scratcher. Here is a picture of them together. They are similar in coloring, but as you can see, they are still easily distinguishable. Now that I have culled many daylilies, I will have room to give these two more space.

Unfortunately, I don't have a picture showing the branching and bud count, but I know it has not reached the 5-way branching with 26-30 buds as listed in the database... at least not yet Crossing Fingers!
