This is a wonderful daylily. Consistent performer in zone 5. Always has a toothy edge. Never splotchy. It is pod and pollen fertile. It holds up well in full sun.

Love this daylily. Good color and love the teeth. Strong scapes and good bloomer.

I love this daylily too! I received a double fan of Dragon Fang in 2017 and it multiplied to at least 6-8 fans in 2020. It is registered as Mid-Late and blooms between late June to mid-July in my garden, so that is about right. I have not seen rust on Dragon Fang, but usually don't have a problem with rust anyway. It is registered as fragrant, but I have not noticed a fragrance so will have to check on that in the coming season. I don't usually get rebloom on many daylilies and have not seen rebloom on Dragon Fang either.

Not a great picture below, but several blooms on 7/8/2020 around 6am, so for me that is an EMO (early morning opener). Showing a little splotchiness on most or all blooms. All of my other pictures of daylilies from that day look good, so I am not sure why all of these have spots. And all my other pictures of Dragon Fang look good too. Other daylilies in this picture - Mystic Amethyst in the back left and Autumn Jewels in the back right. Colors for all three are pretty close to what they look like in my garden.

Branching is 2-3 way and bud count is between 12 and 18. Height is right around the 28" mark as stated by the registration.

i think Dragon Fang looks more red-violet than purple. And the teeth are gorgeous.

Beautiful Vickie! I recently read that overhead watering can affect developing buds too...could that be the reason for splotching on the first photo? It doesn't look like insect damage...

Thanks, Zoia! We haven't watered the daylilies since the drought of 2012. And all the other pictures I took that day seem to be fine. I'm not sure why those blooms dd that unless my husband did something that I am not aware of, lol!

Beautiful photos everybody! Hurray! Hurray! I tip my hat to you.

This daylily is absolutely gorgeous!! I got it in 2019, and it bloomed in it's first year! Hurray! I moved it last Spring bc of over crowding, so I didn't expect it to bloom much at all, but Dragon Fang did not disappoint! Hurray! It bloomed in to August in my garden, last year. The blooms have good substance on sturdy scapes. I love the teeth, as well, and the blooms don't get hung up to open. Great daylily, and I can't wait to see how it's increased this year!! Smiling
