This made me go thru all my photos back to 2016 when I purchased Bold Awakenings. Only 1 photo 2017 of 2 small fans. I had forgotten I had even purchased this one. I went to the area my garden map said it was planted and there is nothing there. Not one I would recommend for cold climates.
How much do I love this plant? Planted in the Fall of 2021, it had 6 fans this summer (2022) and at least 34 blooms. Blooming from June 30 to July 21, there were many weeks of multiple gorgeous blooms. I guess my climate is warm enough for it. A really lovely show!
2023 update…Bold Awakening put on fans this summer at the expense of flowering. It started April with 5 fans but was up to 7 by October. However, flowering was down to less than half of last year, I only counted 14 blooms from July 3-20. Of course I was also gone for a few days in there. Colors range from bluer with cream on cooler days to raspberry with melon on warmer days.
