Annie,

How exciting! I've seen a few Bald Eagles over the years in different places. We have some at Promised Land State Park and in the Lake Wallenpaupack area. I've seen a few adult ones in both places flying over the lakes. I did spot a juvenile about a year ago perched in a tree near Lake Wallenpaupack.

The strangest sighting was in southwest Florida about 20 years ago. My son and daughter-in-law had just had their first baby and hubby and I went to the hospital to visit. As we were leaving we watched an adult eagle swoop down out of nowhere, and snatch a fish out of a beautiful pond on the grounds of the hospital. Couldn't believe it! You never know!

Take care,
Jane

Beautiful bird, we get lots around our neighborhood.

An occasional eagle here. We get mostly hawks and falcons. Eagles are common west of us along the Mississippi River.
