Very true, Deryll. My clump of Velvet Ribbons never leans unless there are several blooming at one time.
I got Velvet Ribbons in a trade in 2017 and it has done well for me. It has about 8 fans now, so is a moderate increaser.
06/14/2020 - It is an early bloomer in my zone 6b garden, but it only blooms about 2-3 weeks between mid-June and early July and then it's done. I've not seen rebloom on it. 'Miss Jessie' (back left in this picture) is registered as 40" and began blooming 5 days later.
06/17/2021 - I do not get the 6-way branching and 41-45 buds that this is registered as. More like 2-way branching with about 10-12 buds. As with many daylilies in my zone 6b garden, I have not seen any rust on it.
06/15/2018, 6:39PM - It is definitely an EMO, because I have pictures time-stamped around 5:30am and it is completely open. I like this picture of it already beginning to separate in the evening before it blooms.
06/16/2018, 3:56PM - same bud the next day. I have a lot of pictures taken in the evening of Velvet Ribbons and it looks almost the same as it did in the morning. Of course, June is not as hot as July or August around here, but it is nice to see good looking blooms in the evening.
It has 64 child plants so it has a lot going for it, especially as an early season EMO.
