More buds are on the way but sad to say if it gets cold the buds might fall off.

Thank You! everyone. This is going to be a great year 2022!

We have been unseasonably warm (in the 80's) and my adeniums just don't want to go dormant yet. I have stopped watering for over a week because it was supposed to rain but it did not. I just got back from giving them a drink because they are in shallow pots and starting to go bone dry. I underplant them with succulents so any excess water will be shared by succulents. (My idea of making sure it doesn't stay overwatered for long.)

Normally I would not even water them until spring.

I was given this Cattleya orchid after a friend died, about 20 years ago It never fails to give me beautiful blooms every December. This time 2 stems with 3 blooms each.

Just got home from our son's home in the mountains of western NC where the weather was unseasonably warm. It was in the 70's every day. I noticed his rhododendrons starting to open and they normally bloom in June.

Yes, it sure has stayed warm through December, hasn't it. My gingers are still blooming, as are the Heliconia out front by the driveway. It is a sunny south facing exposure protected by the house so stays warm long after everything else is dormant.

This is crazy for New Years Day. My poor garden plants are so confused.

Yep, pretty crazy. We're not yet above 80 here, and it's pretty breezy so not quite so summer-like. Tomorrow, Alice!

Forecast for windy, cloudy and rain later in the day, then Monday not even breaking 70, with lows below 50 - covering up my hoop house to keep the orchids toasty on Monday night . . . Sighing!

My desert roses are loving this weather. They have new buds when they are supposed to be resting. I bought some bare root roses from Sam's and they are forming buds too. So I am hoping to see them bloom too before the cold snap.
