I bought 'Isolde' from a nursery in the Netherlands in 2020 with the intention of planting her out in a bed with purple-ish flowers in my backyard. Unfortunately, said backyard turned out to be infested with voles, who will of course eat daylilies with relish, so poor Isolde and her friends have spent 2 years in pots in semi-shade under a large tree. She has held up well, even if the soil in her pot has sometimes been a little on the dry side (OK, maybe a lot on the dry side *Blush* ) the frost (this winter down to -15C) does not seem to have bothered her, not even all the late frosts we had this year after she leafed out. 'Isolde' was planted out in my patio bed in front of the house a couple of weeks ago and is settling in well. So far, I consider her to be a no-fuss, hardy cultivar and I hope to see her bloom this year. Crossing Fingers!

Lillian, can I recommend castor oil for the voles? They had moved in here last year and were doing damage until I spread pelletized castor oil around. They don't like the taste but it's an organic fertilizer for the Daylilies. No one gets hurt, the voles just move on to somewhere more tasty. Some people prefer the spray.

I remember growing ISOLDE about 25-28 years ago. I thought that it was a interesting plant to grow, because it threw poly blooms with more frequency than any other daylily in the garden. I also loved the dark purple color and white midrib. I don't think it was highly budded or fantastically branched. I probably haven't grown it for 20 years.
