I received my starter plant in a special offer of 15 reblooming Day lilies from Wild & Son in Missouri about5 years ago. It's tall & oh so bright orange. It's July 23 in zone 9 south Louisiana & it just started its rebloom cycle here.

This plant amazed me with its neon color and large blooms! The sun was shining on the first ever bloom and I thought there was some kind of a red light in the garden. It is still blooming and only the lates are blooming now. Highly recommended.

I purchased this plant from G Wild in the Fall of 2020. I had an ok bloom in 2021, from July 27- August 29, with 9 blooms, which would indicate a Late bloomer.
However this summer, 2022, Fire King went crazy and produced over 40 blooms from July 1-24. So this year it was definitely Midseason.

It's a great looking bloom, so bright. The coloring is complicated up close, it's not just orange. There are brushes of lavender, rose and raspberry. It's also affected by temperature, showing a wide range of colors. I really like this plant.

2023 update…So, funny story. I planted South Seas next to Fire King, then forgot that was where I put it. They have very similar blooms unless you are really looking. This year I noticed that the patch on the left was more orange. Well, that turns out to be the real Fire King.

So, it hasn't been going great guns like I thought. It's doing ok but it's the South Seas that's really impressive. Anyway, Fire King bloomed from July 21- August 2nd. I only photographed a few blooms, five actually. It could have had more but I was probably focused on South Seas. Now that I know, I'll be better at sorting them out!
