This is an oldie in my garden. I purchased a bunch of Chicago cultivars from Seawright in the 90s and 2000s. This is one that survived and thrived. When I redid the Island Bed last Fall, Chicago Arnie's Choice was split up and planted in a few spots on the edges. It looks great with most colors of Daylilies but very striking with bright yellow. I have it next to Rainbow Gold, which is a great pairing.
It's a strong plant, unfussy. It has a relatively short bloom window, July 13-31 this year ( July4-30th last year), but it blooms strongly when it's time has come.
Here's a few more photos from other pairings this year
CAC with Rocket City
CAC with Hall's Pink
CAC with Miss Jessie
CAC with some NOIDS
Another photo with Rainbow Gold and Hall's Pink
It's not a fancy plant but the shortish stature and solid bright color on a relatively large flower makes it a good choice for a border with other things.
