Oh, I do love this plant! She is itty bitty but such a cool little flower! I'm not sure she is really hardy here though, when I look at my stats

I purchased LSG from Floyd Cove last Spring, received 2 fans. She bloomed from September 22 to October 14 , with 19 flowers and ended the season with 5 fans.

LSG lost a fan over the winter and bloomed more normally from June 17-July 31, but I only saw 12 blooms. She ended the season with only 3 fans.

Last summer was a very difficult one, hot and dry. Hopefully this summer will enable LSG to really get going. We are having a warm wet winter, which I'm hoping will be conducive to good growth in the Spring.

Beautiful, Zoia! Drooling I hope she settles in even more and does really well after the winter. If you have a warmer spot, she may like to be moved to a sunny place next to a south-facing wall. Microclimates matter.

Did you find her to be susceptible to rust?

I have tried to grow it twice in my Zone 5b garden. Both times it died over winter. I bought some seeds with it crossed to a dormant small patterned daylily so I'm anxious to see what the seedlings look like and if they're hardy here.

Justine, there's nothing in my notes about rust, which usually means I didn't see any. She's in the sunniest part of my yard already, although not all that protected, as she is on a hill. That whole area of my yard is about to be massively landscaped, I wonder if it will create a new microclimate.

No news is good news, then! And your yard sounds like it will be massively (even more) beautiful!

With a large collection of miniature and small daylilies ( and having grown daylilies for many years) I've become ruthless about culling those plants that don't thrive in this climate on the edge of zones 6/7. Sadly, some plants hybridized in the Deep South have proven tender and are gone. This one, happily, has proven to be one of Grace's more hardy ones from her last years at Floyd Cove. I saw it as a seedling there just before the nursery sold, and am happy that it grows well here. Or at least it has for several winters. We had several 5 degree nights this past December that will prove hardiness of all plants here during the next season. So far so good! It DOES rebloom here, and rebloom often looks better than initial bloom.

2023 update…I seemed to keep missing the blooms on this one this year. I would catch them the next day when they were already done.I think she bloomed from July 24 to August 12 but I only caught 5 blooms. I think this was a rebloom scape as I think the original ones were broken in June by the construction taking place right next to the plant. She ended the season with 3 fans.
