I have had Bluegrass Shadows for years. It is hardy without cover here in my garden, but it is still just one or two fans and hasn't ever increased. Last year it did rebloom and was pod fertile. It is a bit on the short side here and doesn't reach its registered height, but it is a showy bloom.

I've had Bluegrass Shadows since May 2021. ( two seasons) It has steadfastly remained at 3 fans , not gaining or losing any. It has rebloomed both years, originally blooming in June then again mid way through August. The first year, the rebloom happened in September, I had one bloom, then we got a light frost and all the buds fell off. So, the flower itself doesn't like the cold, even though the plant seems to be hardy. Mine has also remained short so far, only about 24".

However, the flower is beautiful, so hoping for more action next year

This one is fairly new for me and so far no increase. The blooms are stunning but still too new to determine how it will do here.

I think I've had mine for three years. Mine increases, but slowly here. I started with two fans, and now I have five. It has never reached its registered height, with scapes in my garden ranging from 24-26 inches tall. It has rebloomed well in two out of three years, and it does set pods. I will have a couple of seedlings from it which have not yet bloomed. The flowers open well in both cool temps and hot temps. The blooms are always beautiful!

I received Bluegrass Shadows in 2021. It has bloomed in late April both years. Although the two fans have increased in size there are still only two.

Larry - That's surprising that you are in Florida, and yours multiplies so slowly. At least mine has gone from two to five fans, and I have set seed on it in hot temps so that might have caused it to multiply less. Its child, Kindred Jewel, is the one I can't get to multiply.

I am also surprised how poorly it has done, since most Floyd Cove plants grow like weeds for me. I will give it one more year to either produce or perish. There are lots of pretty plants out there so there is no reason to grow a subpar plant.

I have had Bluegrass Shadows since Spring of 2021. It had one or two blooms the first year, but seemed to have settled in by the Summer of 2022 and bloomed nicely. Probably one of the most asked about dls in our garden, it is definitely a show stopper when it's blooming. I agree it isn't super tall but it does bloom above the foliage here. I need to count the fans when it comes back this year and see if I have had any increase. (last year there was none)

2023 update…unfortunately Blue Grass Shadows lost a fan this summer, leaving it back at two fans. It bloomed from July 8-20, producing 5 blooms. This is in the warmest, sunniest part of my yard, I can't do much more for it. So far, not very impressive performance.
