@bxncbx, I have geranium versicolor. I got the seeds several years ago from poison dart frog. It does bloom but just a few blooms. I have never been able to collect seeds. I will bag the bloom this season and hopefully be able to grab a couple seeds for you.
@bxncbx . I collect from most of my geraniums without an issue but I check daily. They ripen and throw themselves about randomly. That particular geranium, I don't think it even makes seeds for me. It's in a spot that it's not very happy in so Im considering moving it this spring.
The pack requirement is 100 packs minimum. 75 packs must be different named varieties and the other 25 can be your own crosses or unknown plants like marigold (instead of Marigold, Durango Bolero).
Drop me a tree mail if you decide not to join in. I'll drop them in the mail. I think I've only been able to get five seeds so far. I have to get out there and bag the last or what I'm assuming will be my last blooms and hope for more.
@ishareflowers I'm not dropping out. I just meant I won't be able to get seeds for my geranium. We've had lots of downpours which has made the backyard a muddy mess. We're finally supposed to have a full week without any storms but I'm pretty sure all the seeds are gone by now. I also haven't been seeing a ton of pollinators since the daylilies mostly didn't bloom this year. Not enough pollen to attract them I guess.
Can some the 75 be different colors of the same species or must they be all different? For example if I have peach and rose strawflowers does that count as two packs or only one?
Hi Everyone ~ I had to (hopefully temporarily) remove a few things from trade, some of which had dibs, because I just can't find them. Sorry! How does that happen
@janinilulu, it's awhile before the swap starts, so you might find them. But no worries if you don't, you always have so much good stuff to offer anyway. As I look at my ridiculous "Seeds I Have" list on my computer, I'm still shaking my head that I'm even THINKING about bidding on any!
Janine, it happens to me every time, usually after I pack them up into trade packets. Those little baggies in particular end up in the darndest places. No worries.
Anyone interested in Jimsonweed seeds? The city planted this annual last year & it reseeded. Pretty flowers but they open at night. I should be able to get seeds in the fall if anyone wants them.
Dear fellow seed-a-holics, I'm leaving this wonderful swap this year, but hope if life smooths out next year, I'll be back.
You have all been such great garden company over the years - don't anyone quit dreaming impossible schemes.
