Thread OP
Defuniak Springs, FL
I live in the FL panhandle. I have lived on my property for about 5+ years now and every year I get a good abundance of "Sparkleberries" (look like smaller blueberries and sometimes sweeter). Last year was the best year due to all the rain (plump and sweet), but this year we had a little more rain but alot of heat. On the 3/4ths of 1 acre of my 2+ acre property NONE of the bushes in that large of an area that is spread out produced any berries at all. Very few berries not developed somewhat "tried to come out". Looking for ideas what might have happened??? Thanks in advance.

Yeah... They rarely produce at my house...
The deerberries (Vaccinium stamineum) seem more productive at my house than the farkleberries (Vaccinium arboreum)...
You'll find that most fruit (bushes, trees) will have off years.

Agree, there are off years! But also look at the fact that with "climate change", or whatever you want to call it, the excessive weather changes, heat, differences in amount of rain in specific areas, will also affect production.
