I grew Pumpkin Kid for one year, fall of 2021 to fall of 2022. I bought the plant because of its good rust-resistance score. During the time I had it, it was a fast increaser. It also bloomed prolifically in its only season here. The blooms were lovely and showy. The downside is that the scapes were short, and the blooms were low in the foliage. However, in spite of that, I would have kept the plant if it hadn't shown itself to be very rust-prone. It must have been exposed to some new strains of rust here.

Started to use in my new hybridization program. I say new because of have not made many crosses in the last few years. Hopefully we will have some good-looking kids (no pun intended) Used Bakababa, Stella de Ore and 1 of my early seedlings.

I've had Pumpkin Kid for 23 years now and I'm embarrassed to say that I haven't moved it in all that time so it's not in the best place now Sad That being said - it is still blooming every year though not as prettily as it did 20 years ago Rolling on the floor laughing
This was PK last year;

I planted Pumpkin Kid in the fall of 2021. So far it has done well. Blooms good and has increased by 5 fans. I have not noticed any rust on mine so far that DeweyRooter had experienced with hers.

Nan sent me her Pumkin Kid last Fall (2022) and it did have a very short bloom period this summer of two blooms. However, it's in a good spot and seems to be doing well so I suspect I'll see a lot more action next summer.

One of my favourites, I've had it for many years. I love the colour. One of those evergreens that shows you can't rely on registered foliage habit as an indication of cold hardiness or lack thereof.
