When I first saw this plant under the trees where the birds roost, I thought it was a cherry tree AND would not survive long in its heavily shaded spot, so had my L/gh (Landscaper/garden helper) re-locate it.

Then it started blooming a few days ago.

It's NOT a cherry tree, but it IS pretty and seems to thrive in its new total sun spot, so I'll keep it. But I need to know WHAT it is, so I can care for it properly.

Here's 3 photos: the whole plant and close-ups of its leaves and blooms.

I agree, it looks like Common Evening Primrose (Oenothera biennis)

No ID from me - but gigantic overwhelming Gold Medal First Place kudos for providing high quality photo information to identify this plant.

This person ought to be able to grow an Oak forest for all the acorns that should be attributed...

Basically, ignore it but leave room for seedlings . They will be like dandelions at first but a distinct white center vein. Then they are rosettes, with the white vein and leaves have slightly more substance than dandelion leaves.
Plant it and they will come.

It's a common weed practically. Annual aswell if I'm not mistaken. So if you want more if it in the future, either collect seed for sowing in spring, or let it self sow and mind the seedlings.
