Currently I'm hung up on getting a white and yellow wild type phal orchid from orchids limited are they harder to keep and grow than your regular phal orchid

I'm not sure what a wild type Phalaenopsis is. Do you mean a species type Phalaenopsis? I have several growing with my regular hybrid Phals. I posted a photo of Yaphon Image in Orchids as Houseplants yesterday.

Look at Brookside Orchids.

Edited to add: It was on Nov. 23

Lucy, nice blooms on your Yaphon Image! Lovey dubby
I had to look it up, it is pretty Hybrid

Alex, if you feel confident growing Phals, nothing wrong with trying your hand on a species. But - as comparison- a species Orchid grows in a specific location, having specific conditions. For that reason Hybrids are usually easier to handle.
When I try a new Orchid species, I try to find its natural conditions first. Orchidspecies.com is a great website telling you where it originated. I have gone as far as adding the daily weather report from that region to my location line up! Smiling When is rainy season, temperatures etc.

The Orchids Limited website has a listing for a Phal that is white with yellow throat and states that it is rarely available and not in many collections: Phalaenopsis amabilis var. grandiflora (Winter Sunset x Snowflake and Reciprocal). https://www.orchidweb.com/orch...

I'd think it would require the same care and culture as any other Phalaenopsis. Shrug!

Yea, I saw that! Smiling and swallowed slightly at the price...
and

here is a quote
"It receives more light than the average Phal. You can tell if it is receiving the proper light levels if the leaves have a slight reddish cast."

Perhaps that little tidbit helps. Smiling

Is $63.75 considered high for a mature, in spike plant?

LOL, I kinda thought about ordering it even though I've never paid that much for an orchid, or any other single plant! It seems to be difficult finding mature blooming size orchids at inexpensive prices and ... I'm so old that if I worry if I buy a small offset or juvenile plant that I won't be alive to see it reach bloom stage.
