I have a bunch of perennial Dianthus that have like barely 1" flowers on them all in bloom and a bunch of even tinier miniature wild daisy's growing in the yard. Was thinking of making some tiny bouquets and was wondering what might work for some foliage in there that wouldn't over power the blooms?
The Dianthus and Dasies are very natural looking blooms so maybe some ornamental grass or even some wild grass? I don't know if grass in your area is going to seed yet but you could even work in a few seed heads if they are available. Also what might be nice are some Fern leaves or even Coral Bell leaves and they come in some really nice colours too!
You could even wrap the miniture bouquets in larger leaves if you have some the right size.
Thanks Steven. I didn't even think about using the Heuchera leaves at all. You get so your so used to some plants having one specific purpose that you forget that they might work well with something else.
Grass.. What's grass. I have weeds and more weeds. I get on somebody yard that doe s have grass and I as bad as a dog, all I want to do is take off my socks and shoes and roll around in it. LOL
hahhaha, I hear you on the grass, we are hoping to get rid of it all in our backyard! I think its a pain but ita s requirement to have some in your front yard.
Have you decided what to use for your mini bouquets?
