Water Beds for Daylilies?!?!?!

Until fall 2013, the only water beds I'd ever heard of were for humans. Then Daylily hybridizer Lee Pickles described the water beds he made for his daylilies, and I knew I had to try it for myself.

Really great article, Mary! I'd heard of this but wasn't sure what exactly it was, and it's sure food for thought here in our summer heat. We do seem to have a West Nile Virus problem here in our county each summer, so I'll have to find out more before taking the waterbed plunge...

Betty, don't forget about the mosquito dunks. They are a lot easier to find than they used to be, I think you can get them at Lowes or HD now.

Yep! That's where I get mine Thumbs up Or as Michele said, you can squirt some Dawn dishwashing liquid (original, not antibacterial) into the water and handle it that way. nodding

Huh.... I wonder if there's a certain amount of Dawn you need to be effective? Like, a tbs. per 5 gallons or something? Did Michele mention?
