Natures latest creation in my garden is my first bloom of the year! This thing waited all morning before opening and still is not fully opened, it is 11:30 almost! Now if I were a daylily bloom and only had one day to live, I would certainly want to get an earlier start! For sure I would be an EMO. If by chance anyone happens to recognize this plant it needs a name other than NOID.

I have a noid that is identical to yours . I do know that mine is a tet because I tried both tet and dip pollen on it and it sets pods with tet pollen.

Thanks that is good to know, a step closer to an ID, one small step for mankind, this may be as hard as taking a trip to the moon trying to get a name for this!

Congrats on your first bloom! It is always exciting to know things are getting under way. I'm afraid I have no clue on ID though.

I have been trying to ID mine for several years. The closest daylily I found that looks similar is called Arc of Gold. But, not sure that is it.

Congratulations on your first bloom of the season. Sorry, but I
can't help with ID. There are so many daylilies, it's tough trying to
identify them, but one can hope that someone will know.

Raaaahh. First bloom. Next.
The problem is that when you are young your life it is ruined by your parents. When you are older it is ruined by your children.

Hemlady,
1979 sounds about right for the date(I just mean I think it is pretty old), but unless these blooms get much larger as the season progresses, that is not it. My first bloom is about four inches I would guess without measuring.
Tomorrow I will measure the bloom and the scape height.

Very interesting, I found a daylily farm not far from here that sales 'Arc of Gold', that certainly increases the odds of it being in this area.

Goodness Seed, it seems to have the same markings too.

One of its parents is TAAL. What an interesting but peculiar name. No picture in the database. New goal, Tina: Get TAAL.

Yes, that's what my noid looks like. I will see if I have a pic of it.

Found a pic of it and the color is very intense because it is in the shade.

I am not positive about the "multiplies like crazy", but the fact that I have it is a good indication that it does. Most of my plants were the pass along plants, and those are normally the ones that people give away, they multiply so fast.
