Dear Hetty, I did put another Article on about Beckenham Place Park as I was waiting for the Rhododendrons to come out! Unfortunately many were nipped by some late frost we have had.
It was worth it as I do Love the Park, and as you can see it is still of a very good standard. Time has not really changed it apart from; the new children's area and the Pavilion being restored and opened as a very good restaurant\cafe! and the Francis Peek centre which has a great range of activities.
The Tennis courts are still lovely and free, and the Bowling green is still in use. Although the Park had a refurbishment in 2006 making it more environmentally friendly, the only new things I noticed were these exercise machines around the outside of the 'American Garden' which seem to be well used. The boats were out yesterday on the Boating lake and I am not sure if all the work has been completed on restoring the Boat House!
The village was far too busy for pictures yesterday and the weather was on and off. But ret assured it has not changed. The Grove Tavern has changed into a Harvester which is sad, very sad.
The Plough and the Greyhound are much the same!
Village life is also the same, as not much affects Dulwich, it lives in its own time zone, which is why it is loved so much!
Thank You for reading my Article and there is more to come and maybe a third one if people are not bored with them!
Kindest Regards.
Neil.
p.s Unfortunatley one of the lovely Gate Houses has been blocked up, i do not know why!
