I like that Petit is addressing rust in many of the introductions.

I like INTO THE BLACK the best but I'd like to see garden shots of how dark it is first.

Well, I am impressed how the hybridiser is addressing rust. Like, BOING, everybody - a new world could be coming.

Some impressively looking blooms too. BLUE RIVIERA and TEMPEST IN A TEACUP I want.
The problem is that when you are young your life it is ruined by your parents. When you are older it is ruined by your children.

It's going for pretty reasonable prices on the auction.

Blue Riviera looks like there is some great future direction going on.
Wonder what some of its kids might do?

I saw some really interesting flowers at Petit during Daylily Mecca, but they aren't included in this fall 2014 intro.
Hope they are intro'd soon since there is a yellow and red one that I really want!

I agree I agree with James et al.....nothing really looking unique here. I will pass. Better deals on the LA. I am not planting anything this Fall anyway. Will concentrate on new seedlings this Winter.

I'll probably buy some of those Petit introductions after they have been on the market for awhile.
I like the substance.
Can't afford "original" prices being a senior citizen here.
But then, I can't afford "original" prices of any of the other hybridizers either at this time.

Greg Goff spoke at our club meeting yesterday, he is the new owner/operator of Le Petit Jardin. He seemed so excited about Daylilies after being in the commercial side of perennials. Ted Petit will still be hybrizing his beautiful creations. The price includes the cost of time and resources to produce a seedling, grow it to the point of introduction and sale. In most cases it can take as much as 7 years from cross to intro. Granted FL has a shorter time frame but still the other related costs. I still limit what I pay for a daylily (most of the time). Sighing!
