Variegata -- an Iris with yellow or near-yellow standards with darker falls of brown or purple.

Neglecta -- an Iris of blue or purple bitones with standards being the lighter color.

I have a Q...Iris are listed for bloom times as early, mid and late. I get that. What I am not sure of is when one is listed as early, mid AND late. Is it because they have a long bloom time? Is it because they can start at different times? Please explain.

I always thought it was because that iris has been reported to bloom at those different times?
