Lisa (Fischer M 1965)

It's a miniature yellow (2.25") that bears my name and birth year.

I appreciate any help.

Lisa, do you know where the hybridizer lives/lived? A local club in that area may be a place to start your hunt.

I have not been able to figure out who M Fischer is/was. There are a couple other Fischers around that time and I read about them trying to see if M. Fischer is a relative but no luck so far.

In the hybridizer code Fischer-M is Marie Fischer Hinsdale II, no other info given.There is a Hubert A. Fischer Hinsdale II (Fischer-H.A.) listed with no other info given.
Also a Fischer-C. Fischer-C is Carol Fischer from Ottawa, KS, not certain if there is a relationship there.

Char, where do you find hybridizer code information? Is it on the AHS website or a publication?

The info is on the AHS Portal. Go into the portal, along the top you'll see an AHS Files tab. Go to Administrative Files. Scroll down to AHS Hybridizer/Registrant list. There are two options for viewing/downloading the list, an excel file or a pdf file.

Hi Lisa, not sure if you've had any luck finding the daylily Lisa (1965), but going on the clue that Char gave, here is a link to a Chicago newspaper article from 1970 entitled Annual Daylily Show to open in Hinsdale.

The show, sponsored by the Chicagoland Daylily Society, will be open from 2 p. m. to 5:30 p. m. There is no admission charge. "Anyone interested in day-lilies is welcome to enjoy seeing the fine array of blooms that will be displayed," said Mrs. Marie Fischer of Hinsdale, society president. "T h e abundant spring rains and recent warm weather have produced exceptional specimens which should make this year's show one of the best on record."

The Chicagoland Daylily Society started in 1963 and is still around. Maybe contacting one of the club officers would help.
