So far now I've become aware of three sellers with seeds of wonderful crosses on the Lily Auction: Rich, and our own Ladylovingdove and Lighthousegal. There are really some fantastic crosses there, and I just wish I had more room! If anyone becomes aware of any others, please include them here as they start posting as I love to look at the crosses and I'm sure others would too.

Strechman and Judydu2 are selling fresh seeds.
I have bought from both and have seedlings blooming from them.

Betty - I couldn't agree with you more about purchasing seeds from Rich and Cindy. I have yet to get seeds from Ladylovingdove. I will have to keep an eye out when she lists on the LA. I have bought from several sellers, but I am waiting on most of those seedlings (from their seeds) to bloom for the first time.

Great idea to list those we have purchased from and are very happy with the resulting seedlings!

And I have to agree with Ashton .... I have a lot of seeds especially this year from seedling crosses. Any expensive or rarer seed crosses are likely the main reasons for my buying seeds now since I have a nice cross selection already from LA purchases and some that others have shared with me.

Cindy (Lighthousegal) is VERY generous!!! She really surprises me with all the great deals she sells on LA. I have a number of hers currently growing in my garden. One of my current favorite crosses from her is :

Cherry Custard Cheesecake x Palace Garden Beauty, which actually looks like the pod parent. Perfect blooms every time. Nice sturdy scape, and nice foliage!

I have bought from Cindy and Rich. I was very happy with both. I'll have seeds on there in a few weeks.

What name do you use when you sell on the LA?

Becky, that seedling is looking better and better.

This week is my last week for selling seeds until my new crop is available in the fall.

Cindy - Being a 1 year old seedling, Cherry Custard Cheesecake x Palace Garden Beauty, is still a small daylily (only 2 small fans), since I don't grow them anywhere as big like many of the big time hybridizers do. But do you know she sent up a second scape with more blooms! The ruffling is getting more intense with time ..... I love, love, love this seedling! Lovey dubby Lovey dubby Lovey dubby

Thank you again for offering those seeds on the LA and sending them my way when I won that particular auction! I have another seedling from the same cross that didn't bloom yet this year. Only about 1/3 of my newest seedlings bloomed this year. The other 2/3 probably won't bloom until next year. So I am curious to see what the other seedling produces in blooms. And I have many more of yours growing that have yet to bloom. Can't wait!!! Thumbs up Thumbs up Thumbs up

That's great that it is reblooming for you. I don't get much rebloom in my zone so its good to know that in the south they will rebloom. I have had people in the south that have bought some of my plants tell me that they have had them rebloom for them, which is great. I never register them as rebloomers unless I actually get them to rebloom for me so its always nice to hear that.

That particular seedling had 10 buds on the very first scape! In my garden, typically I get 6-8 buds on my small first time to bloom seedlings. So the number is higher than my average and then it surprised me with a rebloom scape. It was also very pod and pollen fertile. Can't ask for anything more! A very good cross!!! I am also hoping that it continues to show rust resistance. It had a rust resistance rating of 2 in the Spring. Fall will determine if that rating remains firm. If it doesn't, that plant will definitely be crossed with any rust resistant daylilies. I want one just like it with rust resistance because I garden organically. Rust resistance is one of my top hybridizing goals. People here locally stopped growing daylilies in their gardens because of the rust. Most gardeners here do not use chemicals, so rust resistance is a high priority for me and is the only way I would even consider sharing (or selling) any daylilies to locals, family, and friends. My reason for hybridizing is to name some good quality seedlings after loved ones and then gift them to family and friends. Lovey dubby Thumbs up

Well I can only hope when I cross that I get good rust resistance. Since we don't get much rust here at all there is not really any way to tell in my seedlings whether or not they are rust resistant unless I send them south. I guess I will have to pay more attention to the ratings. How does that work anyway. Is the greater resistance with a high or a low number???

Greater resistance is a low number. A 1.0 is very good. A 5 is the worst for rust resistance. (I think the numbers go from 1 to 5.)

Last year I purchased seeds from Cindy (Lighthousegal), Dot (Ladylovingdove), James (Jwwc) and Michele (Tink3472) from ATP. And I also purchased from Rich (Rich Howard at CT Daylilies), William (Will Marchant) and Ahead (Steve Todd, I think -- that's where James got his incredible LADY OF SHALOTT). But because of our drought restrictions I've had to cut off water to three beds I was going to plant seedlings in, so I only got four flats of seeds planted last fall and still have LOTS of seeds in the fridge, plus I have a large number of pods this year so I'm cutting myself off from seed purchasing -- although Dot's cross SUNFLOWER BLUES X CIRCLE IN THE STORM has me absolutely drooling, as well as all her crosses using UNDEFINABLE and Pat Stamile's new introductions!

But I can still look!!! nodding

I'll be putting seeds on the auction tonight under the name Lalambchop. I do polys, doubles and patterns or combinations of those three.

Thanks for letting us know, Leslie! I'll be sure to check them out.

James has some wonderful seeds on there now, and Dot (Ladylovingdove) has some auctions that close tomorrow morning.

Does anyone else have seeds posted on the Lily Auction?
