Oh gosh, that is a hard question! I'm like you and love most all house plants. l guess I'd say my favorites (although I wish they'd bloom more often!) are probably my Orchids and Hoyas!

Thanks Lee Anne. I have about 40 or so orchids now ... down from @ 60 because of some I lost to squirrels when I had them hanging out in a tree a year or so ago, and some I've lost to root rot. I learned about mounted orchids about a year ago and am now hooked on growing them in that manner. When they are mounted on wood sticks or bark it allows for greater air circulation around the roots ... no more root rot from compacted bark mix or sphagnum moss! The past couple of weeks I've been un-potting some old ones and mounting them on wood and I still have about 8 to go. This Laelia has been blooming off and on for about two months now and I'm waiting for it to stop blooming so I can get it out of the hard sphagnum and tie it bare root onto a piece of wood!

All beautiful! Lovey dubby

I guess my favorite houseplants (well, one of them anyway) are the Philodendrons. I also especially love my Ponytail Palm (Beaucarnea recurvata).

Becky: Very nice indeed ... and great growing keeping an Arrowhead Vine for 10 years! I have the solid green variety growing in the yard and up the side of the screened room. The variegated variety is a favorite of mine also, there was a time when I had a bunch of it growing in a vase of water for many months. I still have some in a container out on the deck.

Another house plant I like a lot is Scindapsus pictus cv. Argyraeus, commonly called "Satin Pothos" and "Silver Philo":

I think the question of favorite houseplant is like asking a favorite child , totally unfair Rolling my eyes.
I have a Norfolk island pine that hovers over my desk area that instills peace and comfort when I have to be inside .
- a hoya that perfumes the air several times a year ,that has been with me for 30+ years
- an aloe that came from my Great aunt that heals and has also been with me for over thirty years.
-and a Christmas cactus that blooms every year that came from my Grandfather when my Grandmother passed away again over thirty years ago.

Maybe I think of them as family and that is why it is so hard to choose.
..a balanced life is worth pursuit.

Lovey dubby I understand perfectly ... I have a couple of plants that were given to me by my dear mom over thirty years ago, and a Hoya carnosa that was given to me @ 1976 by dear elderly friends who were in their mid 80's at the time. The friends have been gone many years now and my mom passed over six years ago, so those plants hold a lot of sentimental value for me!

Anything and everything that is a plant and can be happy in the house is my favorite plant. Many, many years ago I lost all my plants and now am building my plant jungle again. I like all and depending on the what and why, i can appreciate the succulents for their abilities and different shapes, the tropicals for their love of water and leaves and sometimes their flowers, scented plants for the aromas they offer, and ...and...so...and so on...

I received some new plants today. One is the peace lily, an avocado my started, lucky bamboo, i think, 3 poinsettia, and some other stuff.

I got a Norfolk island pine for Christmas, an orchid, and three poinsettia. My jungle is growing and I'm still looking for more plants. The more plants I have the better I like it and for me they are like potato chips. You can't have just one. Rolling on the floor laughing
