Hi everyone. As the title says, my newly planted (about a week) Iris sibirica 'Snow Queen' are yellowing/browning.
It starts off at the tip and then makes its way down the leaf. They're in clay soil amended with garden compost and some sharp sand and have full sun nearly all day.

It's been raining quite hard past few days, but my other trio of the same variety which I have for couple of months now doesn't show these signs; althoug they're in semi shade.

The soil and sun exposure sound ideal for them, and the rain should be helpful in settling them in (they love lots of moisture). I don't think its anything to worry about at this point, perhaps just the roots having been disturbed. It seems Sibs require a year or 2 to settle in before they really start showing off.

From what I can see, it's only happening to the outer fans. If it were happening to the center fan, I would be worried. So give them some time to get settled in and recover from transplant shock.

I cut all leaves that had the problem and now the once green leaves are also turning yellow/red/brownish. Even the ones in the back that I had earlier are showing the signs :S

It could be a bit of stress from the transplant, It takes a while to establish new roots to support the foliage. I think they will be fine in a while.

I have found Sibs to take a long while to settle in, so what Tom says is quite likely.

Just keep watering....SIBs like it wet.....even some mulch would be a good idea. They should be fine...the odds are in your favor ! About one, out of every 10, or so, SIBs I plant, never does "take"....they don't like to be out of the ground very long, and sometimes ?

I'm having the same trouble with my double bloomers, the tips of the leaves are yellow and working down the fan. I have also been pruning quite a number of dead or dying leaves. Several types have only been in the ground for a year but have propagated quickly. Others have been in for several years
