Great pictures, Mark, and I like your observation about less sun. If you add this to the database entry you may see an magically appear!

Hmmm I wonder if Mango Brush and Scarlet Knight are related? They have similar color - picturewise, the petals and the gold dust center.

Does the older bloom turn purplish before turning brown?

'related' - there is no way to know. But they are definitely not the same cultivar. Mango Brush has much more gold.

Sadly, I have no reds. I have had no luck rooting them But I won't give up! I am heading to Honolulu this month for a short work visit. I will find one there, I think,

Look for the Scott Pratt, Cheryl. It is not only a historical red and a good bloomer, but I have good luck rooting it as well.

That is a matter of taste. I no longer grow Scott Pratt.
My favorite red is Pops Red.

You are right and my Mango Brush is more maroon, the gold didn't show well in this photo but in person it is very noticeable.

I only have one red..looking to acquire more....I've had Scott Pratt also but not one of my faves...

That's it...I give up!!
