I wish I could grow it! Lovey dubby

Height is around 1.20 -1.50m (4-5 ft),
The Botanical garden of Rio de Janeiro (unlabelled)
It could be being trimmed for use as a hedge, as I see some taller stalks sticking out ..

I have a similar miniature bamboo called "Chopsticks" that came from a private gardener's sale. They couldn't tell me anything about it only that the grower used to travel all over the world collecting plant specimens. It is said to grow only about 18-24" tall. Unfortunately it is not doing as well as it could. I think a little more TLC on my part next season should help that. I have it in a pot so I can protect it in the winter.

Thanks Cheryl, but this one is bigger than 18-24''.
I googled Bamboo "Chopsticks" but it only gives me chopsticks made from bamboo. Hilarious!

I'm not sure if they are true black, but they sure are dark;
this is another photo that shows them better..

Wow, I didn't realize there were so many bamboo species in Brazil Janet! Amazing!
Thanks for that link.
I realize now it is not doable to get to species level, not even sure we could get to the genus.
Many fine details would be needed, and I doubt there would be the documentation on the web for comparing!

I googled Chusquea but couldn't find anything that really matches..

And as there are taller stalks sticking out in the one from the botanical garden, it could well be they are being trimmed and that would explain the dense tuft of petioles on top of the stalk shown on the last photo from that one..so the measures I have given might not be true..
It is mission impossible! Hilarious!
