I just bought mine last month to fill in where other plants didn't make it thru the August 100's. Is planted in amonst red hot lips salvia and yellow tickseed coreopsis. Is doing very well and filling in nicely. Love the pretty blue color, especially with the red and yellow around it.
I love this Salvia. While it does fold up and struggle in our droughts, it always comes back, is exceptionally easy to propagate from cuttings, and is a bee magnet.
Given to me as a small piece, it has returned year after year and formed a big clump, probably I can divide it into three. Very dependable long bloomer, unlike many perennials it blooms all summer long.
Thank you, Marilyn. That particular stand died from a necessary spraying (neglected tree saplings growing in and through it, no other way to get them out), but I had cuttings in pots and--thankfully--still have it around.
