Name: Lin Jarvis Peterborough, ON, CANADA (Zone 5a)
We put Highland Lord in our new Daylily bed 2 years ago and I am very pleased with it. It has bloomed well both years and should be a wonderful full plant again next year.
The colours are very deep and it is definitely an eye catcher.
Highland Lord is a wonderful daylily, doubles 100% of the time but sometimes with more petaloids in the center than at other times. It is always the same consistent colors and is very hardy. Highland Lord multiplies quickly, I have divided it several times. Every time I divide it the divisions just come back stronger than if I leave it alone. A great one to share with friends and never fails to be beautiful. I am not hybridizing doubles so I cannot say anything about whether it is pod or pollen fertile.
Added Highland Lord in late 2014. Waiting for it to get climatized to my garden. It was on my wish list quite awhile. Have to wait until 2016 bloom season.
Highland Lord has preformed just beautifully for me here in my zone 8b garden. It stands out and holds its color in the hot summer heat and humidity. I love the rich red color and it always doubles for me.
I planted HL here in the Spring of 2021, with two fans from Dorsets and Daylilies. Despite being in a good location, it stubbornly refused to grow. This summer I had one bloom out of it but at least it put on a fan to end October with 3.
Here's my only flower in two years
I have had Highland Lord since 2010. It blooms prolifically, but rarely does it double. Deep, rich colours and so it is still beautiful, but I must say I am envious of the pics of doubles that I see!
I have had it for many years, it performs well, it has beautiful blooms, it reblooms in my garden, and it is a survivor. I purchased this plant in 2015 from Amador Flower Farm in California. The strange thing about this plant is that it seems to bloom a few days later almost every year I kept notes on it. It has slowly crept from early May to the last part of May. So here at least are a few photos I have take of it over the years.
'Highland Lord':
2023, another year without bloom for this cv. It has 5 teeny little fans but seems to barely hanging in there. Perhaps it's time to attempts something else in that spot.
