This is one of the most versatile, easy to grow, and loveliest of any coleus. For two winters now I've kept cuttings of it inside in water, only planting it out in late April after frost is gone. I always intend to pot it when it roots, but somehow it gets easily forgotten. It doesn't seem to mind.

Another plus is that it is striking in containers with so many vining varieties. It's great with a lime leafed sweet potato vine, or with one that is predominately black. It's also beautiful beside the more solid black or maroon shades of other coleus. It likes semi shade and needs some shelter from strong winds.
