Photos of seeds forming in our gardens can be valuable additions to the database. If you have the opportunity to take shots of seeds in your yard as autumn approaches, they could be added to the database. Comments about how to collect those seeds would be useful to other gardeners as well.

I admit, I've been pretty bad in the past about taking pictures of seeds *Blush* I'm always more concerned about deadheading to prevent reseeding. But if you get an opportunity for a good picture, please remember to add it to the database.

I added salvia seeds yesterday.

Hmmm.....a good reminder, but just a little too late for this year. I've cut so many things back already.

For me, too. I should have reminded myself earlier too. Maybe OK for folks in warmer zones though. Not everyone has fall in the air like we do.

Supposed to be in the 30s here on Sunday morning. I ran out after work today to get some cuttings....they're not potted up yet, but are resting comfortably in a shallow pan of water under grow lights until I can attend to them this weekend. Also brought in my bay tree, and a lemongrass plant to overwinter. I just seem so early Crying

Definitely early this year. And I still have a lot to do outside and little time to do it.

I echo that sentiment, Karen. I"m going to try to get up to the demonstration beds tomorrow to harvest some herbs, and pull a few plants to overwinter.

I'm also going to try to get my cold frame set up tomorrow so I can put any last minute plants in there.
I have my bay tree and lemon grass safely indoors for now, along with the afore mentioned coleus cuttings.

weird seeds. are mature scabiosa seeds always green? most mature seeds (i.e. other plant types) are brown/black.

I read they do that sometimes to allow the seeds to travel through the packing machine easier
