Woke up this morning to Japanese Beetles EVERYWHERE in my garden......Also, found this guy. What is it??? I want to say bumblebee but he was like 2 1/2" long and had wings.....on my corn....
I can't quite tell from the picture, since it doesn't expand when clicked on but becomes smaller, but this looks like either a bumblebee or a carpenter bee. I would not want Japanese beetles but bees are important for pollination.

The reason it's so hard to lose weight when you get up in age is because your body and your fat have become good friends.
Yeah, those Japanese Beetles can really be a problem this time of the year. Seems some years are worse than others. I use Safer Insect Killing Soap to kill them. It works pretty good but you do need to spray it on the beetles directly. Spraying the foliage ahead of time does no good.
