Thread OP

So, I know absolutely nothing about plants or taking care of them and I need help identifying this plant. My girlfriend's mother had a bunch of these leaves soaking in water with roots growing off of them. After she passed, my girlfriend and I took one of the leaves and planted it, keeping it in indirect sunlight, watering when the soil felt dry, and fertilizing it every couple of weeks. Lately, some of the leaves started to turn brown, so I cut them off and repotted the plant (pictures). I need help finding out the name of this plant so I can properly care for it. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

Hi. This popped up in my friend's yard and she doesn't know whether to dig it out or let it be. Can anyone tell me what it is? Thanks!

Welcome to the site! A geographic location would help.

Maybe this Conopholis americana or alpina

Squawroot (Conopholis americana)
