I would say it is more Lavender. I have never had mine bloom a dark purple like mattsmom's photo.

It is a nice plant with good bloom. My only downside of it is that it seems to attract spider mites for some reason which can cause the foilage to look very unattractive. This year it was fine, no mites. It multiples good and the flowers do well in hot sun. It is easily fertile both ways. I also have had it rebloom for me.

I went to the database and found that I did post one picture of Jim Spencer where it was a much darker Lavender than it normally is. That may have been a cooler morning or early in the morning before the sun was hot.
