I bought a double fan of Roswitha in 2009 for $8. It is now nine fans, so it has not multiplied well for me, but I always have to put in a note about my garden having tree roots in it. I feel that this is the cause of some of my daylilies not multiplying well. Roswitha just happens to be one of the dl's that was in the shadow of a maple tree (maple tree is now gone, yeah!).
This year in my zone 6b garden, Roswitha bloomed from 6-15-16 to 7-17-16, so a full month of blooms. Again, probably because of all the rain we had this year.
I have not seen any rust on Roswitha. I actually walked my garden and rated my daylilies with a rust score this year because I found that I do have a few rust buckets. Roswitha earned a score of 1.0 in my garden (no visible signs of rust).
This picture is from 6/28/14. Only about 4-5 fans after 5 years.
Picture from 6-15-16. I believe cutting down the maple tree in 2015 really helped Roswitha flourish in 2016. I did not measure height, but I do believe a few scapes of Roswitha got at least 20" tall (6" taller than registered). We also had a lot of rain this spring which I am sure made a difference.
Cropped section of picture above showing branching and bud count. At least 3-way branching and 15 buds. I believe a couple scapes had more bud count.
This picture shows a nice size comparison. Coneflower blooms are between 3-4" and Roswitha is registered at 3.25".
Just a couple more random pictures I took this year.
All in all, I'd have to say that Roswitha is a great daylily to have in the garden (and I'm not a big fan of doubles, lol). It's small stature really looks nice as a foreground plant.
Oops, edited to add this picture showing that Roswitha does single. However, this is the only time that is has singled for me that I can remember.
