I haven't grown this salvia before, but the flowers are a pretty color.

I grew this plant in Austin. To be honest, I was not impressed. The blooms were not very noticeable and it reseeds like crazy! It even got into my lawn area and I had to spend a lot of time pulling it out. I finally took it out completely, though I still had to pull seedlings for a couple of years. I got this at a plant exchange. That should have been a clue that it multiples easily!😁

@SALL20

Thanks for sharing your experience.

I didn't realize that the flowers weren't very noticeable. I guess the photos on the database were zoomed in to show the flowers. Since it reseeds a lot, then I know I won't be growing it in my flowerbeds or containers.

My experience was much the same as Sall20 . I also grew it when I lived in Austin. Pluses- easy for beginner and the leaves are a nice color
Minuses - became a thug in the garden. Flowers not that outstanding and look ratty after they are done. Must be removed almost immediately.
