This is a neat and splendid bloom. Here in the subtropics it dies right back below ground in the colder months. I have had it for over five years. It is susceptible to rust but this is killed when it goes dormant. It flowers in late spring and is both pod and pollen fertile.

The problem is that when you are young your life it is ruined by your parents. When you are older it is ruined by your children.

Love this one - color is great, and I'm usually not that fond of oranges. Would like to move this to a better garden spot. It's been here since it was first introduced , and was planted near a very small ( at the time) Japanese maple. The maple isn't huge but it's grown from 2' to about 9' and gives more shade. Hoping to move it this season, as bloom production has gone down a bit with less full sun time.

Had this one since introduction. In my climate it only blooms for about a month. Haven't noticed any rust on it. The color is such an interesting blend, that I will keep it.

I bought Glorious Autumn and it never survived its first winter/spring in my garden. As it is a dormant I was surprised but we did have a very harsh spring with several late freezes. I suspect it died of crown rot. I had GA in a pot so if I ever decide to buy it again I'd plant it in either the ground or a raised bed to protect it better. The flowers are so gorgeous I just may try again!
