I am partial to a crepe and Brocaded Gown is one of the best. Here in the subtropics it flowers in early spring. It is a consistent rebloomer and is also easily fertile both ways. It is fairly resistant to rust which makes it a fun plant to have. It deserves its Stout Silver Medal.

These pictures are from today and are reblooms. I think there has only been a couple of days without a bloom since early October last year.

The problem is that when you are young your life it is ruined by your parents. When you are older it is ruined by your children.

Brocaded gown has done well here also, but I have only had it since July 2015. It bloomed for about two months here. I think it pretty well met the stats of 26x6 in my garden. Just went down to the garden, and Brocaded Gown only has four fans, not sure but I think I started with two, so not a rapid multiplier, but at least not decreasing.

This is a photo of Brocaded Gown I just took, it was loaded with aphids when I pulled off most of the dead foliage, by the time I got back two Ladybugs were feeding on them. Only one shows in the photo.

As I recall, this one bloomed later here in the North. Lovely soft yellow, but not a heavy bloomer here. When does yours bloom, Karen? (You are a bit warmer, though.)

I believe I had blooms starting in June and had re-blooms after that.

I have had this daylily for a long time (decades, really) but with deer predation and also a bad (too much shade) location, I haven't seen regular bloom on it, and I don't recall ever seeing rebloom.

That said, when it has been in (unmolested) bloom, I have to say that the blooms are lovely - and I am not one, generally speaking, who is a fan of creped daylilies. But on this flower, it works - and the name very much reflects the beauty of the bloom; the color and texture of the bloom are evocative of a fairy tale ball gown.

My only problem with the daylily is that the scapes are a bit shorter than I like (26", but at the time, that's more or less the height they all seemed to be). So this daylily needs to be positioned such that you can enjoy the flowers even though those scapes are short; mine is at the bottom of a hillside, right behind the (2 ft high or so) retaining wall.

A bonus for those who care about such things (and one reason why this daylily stays in this garden, and will go with me if ever we leave) - it has excellent rust resistance (a rating of 1.0). Thumbs up
Evaluating an iris seedling, hopefully for rebloom
