This is a wonderful daylily. Although I have it for only 3 years, the fans have grown into a nice small clump. The height is just right for the scapes. THe flowers color is very nice and colorfast. Sometimes they can be splotchy but that maybe due to my weather.

I have had it for several years -it grows well and looks good.
so good I have to keep dividing and sharing it when people see it. I may need to leave it alone for a year and let it build back up as blooms were smaller this past year. No data on fertility as I have not used it but I do remember it setting a bee pod a couple years back.
Love what you teach and teach what you love!

This was my 1st bloom year for Back Scratcher. It really did well, each bloom seemed to just get better. I did set a pod on it with Mister Mayor. Not sure if the seeds are really viable, they seem small, but firm.

I got Back Scratcher in 2013 in an online auction and it has done well for me, although some of the blooms have been splotchy. It has sturdy scapes that stand well above the foliage. No rust here.

I don't have a good picture showing bud count and branching, but it has not reached the 6-way, 36-40 buds given in the database specs.

June 23, 2020, around 5pm - The color does fade throughout the day. It blooms for about a month-early June to early July.

I had 'Applique' sitting right behind 'Back Scratcher' and had to move it last year. They look very similar in this picture, but Applique is a little taller and the eyezone is different.

The color is described as purple, but a lot of my pictures make it look more like a reddish-purple. But on overcast days, the purple really comes out.
