Confused I do have a daylily called 'Wisteria', it's actually a favourite, but is that what we're supposed to be talking about?

Oh my gosh Sue, I never knew that there was a daylily named Wisteria!! It is a beauty!!! My grandmother's German Shepard was named Wisteria..... Wissie for short. We loved that dog and when we got a German Shepard, we named her Wisteria too. I will definitely be out there looking for this plant now!!!

Sue - Thank you for mentioning the mix-up. I have fixed the database link and photos. Please add your evaluation about this daylily cultivar.

I don't have a Daylily called Wisteria but I'd love to have one? I guess this went out to anyone with a plant that has wisteria in it/s name? I'll add this one to my already too long private daylily want list. *Blush* Edited to say "Oh! It's is Wisteria. Featured plant of the day. It still posting to the daylily forum though.

I have had Wisteria in my garden for a long time it grows well here, the blooms are ruffled loveliness making it a keeper. I remember it did take a couple of years to get established here which is not unusual here in the north.
If you want to be happy for a lifetime plant a garden!

I have had 'Wisteria' for a number of years. It is totally hardy here in Zone 4, beautiful, and sets pods easily (not that I have actually grown any of the seeds because of lack of time and space, but sometimes I can't resist starting the process with this one even if I don't finish it). It has also increased well. Definitely one of my favourites.

WISTERIA is an old favorite from our zone 7 garden to our present zone 4b garden.

scape height 20 in, (51 cm)
bloom size 5.75 in, (15 cm)
bloom season Early-Midseason,
Rebloom

ploidy Diploid
foliage type Evergreen
bloom habit Extended

The scapes sometimes take off in their own direction but after the first bloom they never fail. A long bloom season adds to the value of this twentieth century daylily.

WISTERIA has an ethereal aspect to it as its light color makes it seem weightless. Multiplies happily

My daughter gave me a single fan of Wisteria in the autumn of 2015. It is now three fans in summer, 2017, and it bloomed for the first time today. It is gorgeous, a huge bloom. It is winter hardy and a lovely addition to the garden.

Sorry, Becky, but I dropped in late on this thread. Was something wrong with the database entry for this cultivar?

Ken - it was probably my fault that an actual wisteria tree was originally featured instead of this Daylily cultivar. I switched the link and photos to the correct ones on this thread. No problem with the plant database, which is fine. Thanks for checking in about this issue. Thumbs up
