My plant is not that large, but the flowers were not 6.5 inches. Otherwise, I withhold evaluation.

This is an outstanding daylily. Blooms are typically around 6 inches. Makes large fans and increases well. Color holds all day in full sun. It is a bud builder. I still have many buds yet to go. Typically it blooms from July into September. It is a mid to late season bloomer. It is still blooming with all of my late bloomers. It is pod and pollen fertile and I spread its pollen yesterday. This is one plant that will always have a spot in my garden in spite of its name. The name does seem to fit by the fact of how it performs.

This is a FABULOUS daylily with great scapes. As with all of Curt's heavily budded ones, they must first establish massive root systems to push up and support those enormous scapes.... they don't make good pot plants!!! I had a double fan of one of Curt's big ones burst a pot when I moved! Once ARROGANT BASTARD is established you can understand the name. Rich color with deep saturation, in your face presentation, excellent all the way around.

I have had it for about 4 years now, it has not gotten to it's full height yet but I have moved it at least 3 times and it is going to get moved again here real soon. Like Davi said it has huge scales, I don't think a tornado could topple it over. It is still blooming in my zone 5A garden now, and will always be in my garden.

I planted AB in my yard last Spring ( 2022) and, surprisingly, I got a fair amount of bloom from a new plant. From July 22- August 8, I had 13 blooms. They are very attractive, nice heavy substance, dark red. Looking forward to this establishing and providing some great color in the later season.

2023 update, Arrogant Bastard just sort of sat there this summer. It began and ended the summer with 4 fans and only sent up 7 blooms. I suppose it is still getting established but I'm not seeing the fabulous plant that other people are experiencing.
