Of the several Trimmer daylilies grown here, this is one of the best. It has been here for four years, and always been reliable as to bloom and habit. The color and size of the flower makes it impossible to miss. In our garden, usually the red flowered DLS have that tendency to melt out in the hot sun, but this one holds up very well--it is in full sun from noon until about 6:00 in the afternoon, so definitely not ideal conditions but Springfield Clan still looks pretty good at the end of the day. For the lovers of large, red flowers with fairly tall scapes that present the flower to advantage, this one is definitely worth checking out.

I put in Springfield Clan in Spring 2021, in a very sunny and dry location. It hasn't increased at all, still standing at 2 fans. This summer, I had a short bloom from July 4-19, with 9 flowers. I sure hope this one becomes more enthusiastic about growing, as I like the bloom a lot, being a fan of bright red.

2023 update… SC bloomed from July 5-23, with 14 blooms but it is still the same two fans as it started with.
